Makris Athens by Domes is a creative concept from Dr George Spanos, C.E.O. of Domes Resorts and Chef Petros Dimas. Located in Thissio, in the heart of Athens’ old city, close to the city’s famous Acropolis, the restaurant is the final of four Makris restaurants, the first stand-alone and the Domes group’s flagship.
At the heart of Makris Athens' philosophy is a deep connection to nature, embodied in its organic farm nestled at the foothills of ancient Corinth. In greenhouses and orchards, seasonal ingredients such as vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, and fruits all grown sustainably, are delivered daily to the kitchen. This farm-to-table approach not only informs the creative process but also offers an immersive, slow-living experience where once they have visited Makris Athens at least once, guests can join in harvesting ingredients, cooking over a wood fire, and sharing a meal that tells the story of the land and its bounty. Chef Petros Dimas guides guests in gathering fresh ingredients to prepare a meal together. Available vegan, meat, or fish-based menus and an unforgettable experience cooking among the flowerbeds, roasting over open flames, and savoring dishes paired with fine wine in a day filled with rich flavors and aromas.
